Editorial standards
Field Notes is owned and published by Endless River Studios LLC. We cover independent nightlife, event production and experiential culture from the perspective of a Los Angeles event production business. Our commercial interest is visible: we also produce events and offer partnerships.
Facts and interpretation
Reported facts need attributable sources. Recommendations, frameworks and cultural interpretations are labelled as Endless River analysis. The idea that independent producers can be cultural infrastructure is a thesis to examine, not a universal fact or a claim of outside agreement.
Sources and examples
We link original sources and explain what each establishes. First-party event records are labelled as our own accounts, not independent validation. Hypothetical calculations are teaching examples, not statistics or observed results. We do not invent quotations, press, attendance, relationships, endorsements or consensus.
Assisted research and conditional publication
AI-assisted discovery, drafting and evidence/originality checks may be used. Daily research does not imply daily publication. Automated publication requires readable verified evidence, meaningful original value and complete portfolio-coverage checks. Uncertainty or failed checks routes a draft to admin review rather than forcing an article.
High-risk material
Accusations, private information, uncertain claims about people, legal or serious financial allegations, health claims and weak or anonymous sourcing are not eligible for automatic publication. Such material needs human review; a review queue is not an endorsement of the claim.
Portfolio independence
We do not use sister publications to manufacture agreement. Existing portfolio coverage must be considered before publication. An Endless River piece needs a genuinely distinct event, nightlife or culture angle; otherwise we skip it or link where relevant.
Dates, updates and corrections
Published and materially updated dates are shown on current articles. A substantial update should improve or correct information, not merely refresh a timestamp. Existing URLs are retained when the same subject changes. Legacy guides keep their URLs with a source-review notice; unknown original publication dates are not invented.
Send a specific source or correction through Contact. Named contributor biographies are published only after their identity is confirmed; otherwise the byline belongs to the Endless River editorial desk.
