What this is

An immersive night, shot as a film.

AFTER DARK is an invite-only immersive event in Los Angeles on October 30 — and it’s being made as a film, not just documented. Guests walk into a built world. Cameras are running the whole time.

The casting is part of the story. We’re filming the auditions the way the old talent shows did, when the room where people tried out was half the reason you watched. If you audition, you’re already in the footage.

It’s produced by The DMF House and Endless River, together with a group of creators whose audiences run into the millions.

The honest version.

• This is unpaid. There’s no budget and we’re not going to pretend there is one. If that’s a no, it’s a no — no hard feelings.
• Your audition is filmed, and it may appear in the finished film and in advertising for it, whether or not you’re cast.
• We can’t promise anyone a role. That’s not a soft no — the narrative isn’t written yet. Applying puts you in front of us early, and that’s all it does.
• You have to be 21 or older to be on camera on October 30. We check ID at the door.
• Costumes are archetypes, not characters. Vampires, werewolves, final girls, video-store clerks. Nothing trademarked — we can’t put it in the film.
